We're Back!

We arrived home this morning to a clean house (thanks to Peter!) and a hectic life looming on the calendar. Thankfully we have another week long vacation and several solid weekends away to look forward to. The time in DC continued relaxing and reflective, with more time at the zoo and museums, more live music, more suppers on the back deck and thunderstorms on the front porch, more gin and tonics and cappuccinos from Starbucks, and plenty of HD TV sporting events. The lap of luxury is located at 2923 Macomb Street. The must luxurious aspect of the weekend was a rare 2-1 adult to child ratio, which meant we did not collapse from exhaustion at 7:30 every night. Pepe took about 8,000 photos, most of them stunning portraits, which can be viewed on our picasa site. We now have three weeks to settle into a more normal and less opulent life. I have three days of technology training. Jasper starts at his new preschool tomorrow. Josie with hang out with Sarita until we can find a more permanent situation. We will go to the pool in the evenings, berry picking in the mornings, and cook on the grill as much as possible, while the sticky, steamy days wax into thunderstorms. Such is New England in the summer.

Josie has evolved into a Baby with a capital B over this past week. She finally realized that she has a body and is eager to use it, rolling, writhing, inching and squirming her way towards anything in or out of reach. She has started to scooch backwards when trying to move forwards, which frustrates her to no end. She amazed guests at every party with her ability to consume food of all shapes and sizes, from entire pieces of corn on the cob to multiple slices of watermelon. New teeth keep popping up like tulips. She puts the hungry caterpillar to shame. I can't wait to see what kind of butterfly she will be.
