We rang in Peter's 34th year in style in a celebration spanning 24 hours. We started off with a dinner at home on Friday night, complete with the requisite fresh corn, grilled salmon and hot fudge sundaes. We were so busy having a good time, the only pictures we got were of the late night dance party, when Jackson gave Tasha and Jasper a break dancing tutorial in our back yard. Everyone (Tim, Joanie, Sarah, Ethan, Jackson, Tasha) slept over. We got up early the next morning and headed to the beach to meet up with more friends. It was the hottest day of the summer yet, but we were comfortable in the waves of the Atlantic. Jasper caught his first ride on a boogie board. Josie barely tolerated the heat, sticky sunscreen and sand in every orafice, simply pacified by cold blueberries and a cool pool of ocean water to suck on. All 23 of us dined at Flatbread in Portsmouth. Peter admitted it was a fantastic birthday, despite the heinous bout of poison ivy that has taken over his entire left arm (I thought Josie had really bad diaper rash, until we realized that it was the same allergic reaction... the salty water seemed to do everyone some good).
