Spring Flings

In both defiance and celebration of the snow we headed further north today in search of sugar and slopes. We found both in Thornton, where Sarah's folks live. We spent the morning feasting on pancakes and watching the sugarers boil sap to make the first run of maple syrup this season at Benton's Sugar Shack.

Then we visited Sarah's home where her Pop has created a sledding experience ala Andy Goldsworthy. We luged for a couple of hours while Josie rested and Jasper stole chocolate eggs from Nana's candy dish. The wind chill was well below freezing but the robin's egg sky was inspired by spring, I am sure.
