It's MELTING!

At last, a sunny day of liquid! Rivulets covered every surface. The glaciers receded by at least a foot. We can see the top of our Obama sign again. Alas, tomorrow they are forecasting more ice. But the end is in sight, and I can almost taste the maple syrup on my pancakes at the sugar shack.

Today we had expected a visit from Pepe, who has a consulting gig up in this area every couple of months. He arrived around 4 pm, just in time to distract Jasper from a major temper tantrum he was about to begin. Then five minutes later I heard another knock on our door, and there was Meme! She had recieved a free ticket from Southwest this week and considered it a sign that she should join my dad for the overnight visit. Jasper and Josie had a blast listening to stories about Freddy M. Freenball (a character from my youth), and wrestling in a "fight to the finish." It is a real joy and gift to see my children and parents playing together. They will be allies against me one day, after all.

Your parents are very special people. I loved seeing them in November at my mom's.
