The Hipples

We took our first walk in the "fancy stroller" (as Jasper calls it) through the snow today, and the cadillac of strollers held up well. After several adventures downtown (dance class, coffee shop, bakery, co-op), we rushed home to find Oma who had come from Boston to babysit. Josie and I went to a professional development meeting while Oma and Jasper sang Christmas carols at home. When I returned home, the Hipples arrived. Thank goodness. Jasper is never happier than when Jackson and Tasha are around. He asks about them every day, several times a day. When they play, every conflict magically dissapates without adult intervention. Jasper vascilates seamlessly between docile husband to Tasha and roaring pirate with Jackson. One moment he is brandishing a sword, the next minute he is toting a purse. The trio dissapears for long stretches of time, leaving the adults to enjoy each other's company or get stuff done. It's like magic. The sad truth is that the Hipples are moving. As of the new year they will be living in Tuftonborough, over an hour north. However, they are moving into a beautiful house with a gorgeous view of the Ossipee mountains and plenty of space... so I am sure we will see them often. But no more stopping by on a Wednesday afternoon for an hour of fun before dinner. This is a picture of Josie with her female role models, Sarah and Tasha Hipple.

we're sad, too! Even though we've only hung out with them a few times, we're going to miss them! Maybe next time we come visit we can all take a trip to see them, OK? great.
