Thanksgiving

We drove to South Hadley, MA to the house that Peter grew up in on Wednesday afternoon. We had a great visit with friends Polly, Anand and Jack (who is 15 months old).

Antonia and David (aka Oma and Pop Pop) arrived early the next morning for a day of cooking, games, relaxing and feasting. Jasper and Josie had a blast, as did the adults. Antonia is wonderful about traditions and memories, so Peter is always filled with great feelings about his own past while we watch Jasper experiencing his father's environment on his own terms.

Friday was a mellow day of adventures. In the morning we went for a walk around the Holyoke Reservoir. The oak trees still had many of their leaves and it was a stunningly clear day. In the afternoon Jasper went on a "date" with mama and papa, while Josie napped with the grandparents, to the old carosel from Mountain Park which is now installed at Holyoke Heritage park. We rode the carosel and then explored the Children's Museum, conveniently located across the park.

One of the highlights from the weekend was finding Peter's old batman costume from when he was five. Aunt Susie made the entire costume, including the batman emblem on the chest. Jasper was in super hero heaven.
