Yesterday we took our first foray into Boston. We spent the morning at the Aquarium, lunch with Regan/Ben/Nia/Otter, and dinner with the Pyles. Jasper was a model big brother the entire day. Josie woke up just to let us know when she needed to eat.
Last spring we purchased a membership to the New England Aquarium which we have come to refer to affectionately as "that f**king membership." Each time we go to Boston we feel compelled to visit it, despite the crowds and inconvenience. We figure we need to go at least ten times this year to make the membership well worth it. However, this weekend we reached a new level of intimacy with the museum, heading straight for our favorite animals, all of whom we found in their usual haunts. The electric eel was particularly active. The sharks seemed less menacing. The penguins were mating. The octopus even extended a tentacle in greeting. There were far less people than usual, so we felt we could take our time to observe and commune with the fish without being pushed away from the glass by someone with their digital camera. Jasper was asking more questions and really observing the animals more than he has in the past. I am actually looking forward to our next visit.
