Today we departed Merrymeeting Lake under overcast skies, perfect weather for packing and closure. We had a spectacular final evening complete with supper on the deck, a paddle around the cove at dusk, a fire and smores, and a marathon completion of The Family Puzzle until midnight. It has been a great week, but it feels like time to come home. Jasper and Josie were happy to be back at 55 Walker Street, rediscovering old toys and exploring the yard with new eyes. Peter and I are happy to be back in a bedroom of our own!
Two days ago the kids reached important milestones: Josie actually moved FORWARD under her own locomotion (not exactly
crawling... but progress), and Jasper "swam" (ie went in the water and kicked) without a life vest or noodle (with much help from his uncle Scott). Everyone is growing up like weeds after a rainstorm!
